The Tree House(Attalaya) @ Wasgamuwa Safari Sri Lanka

The Tree House (known as 'Attalaya' in the Sri Lankan native language of Sinhala) is traditionally built on a strong tree near the farm lands (paddy and Chena cultivations) in areas where wild elephants are roaming around in the dry zone to protect their harvests from the big fellows.
Farmers have to spend sleepless nights in these 'Attalayas' virtually everyday after about one and half months from the day the seeds have been put on the field until the the harvest is taken to their homes guarding their farms.
These structures are usually built with the timber and roofing materials found in and around the farms and in the near by jungle.
It is an extremely fascinating experience for the visitors to spend a night or two in the Attalayas.

An Attalaya(a Tree House) has been constructed on a big 'KON' tree 20 feet above ground level at the premises of the Wasgamuwa Safari Sri Lanka Holiday Bungalows.
It is strongly built and can provide sleeping facilities to around 6-8 people. Located on an Elephant Corridor, the Tree House has attracted many visitors who would love to gather the Camp site experience in the wilderness.

The Eco House at Wasgamuwa Safari Sri Lanka

Wasgamuwa Safari Sri Lanka is an Eco Friendly Safari Holiday Bungalow which provides accommodation and Safari tour arrangements to the visitors to Wasgamuwa National Park.
The Holiday Bungalows is located in a serene natural setting very close to the Park. The Eco House constructed with the traditional building materials and a 'iluk' thatched roof is the latest addition to the premises.The Eco House creates the sensation of Eco Living but it has the required decent facilities to avoid frustration and uneasiness found in most of the holiday bungalows.
It can accommodate around 12-15 people at a time.
