Wasgamuwa National Park (NP) in Sri Lanka is famous as an elephant habitat. These elephants, the population of which is about 200- 250 are known to be less habituated to people and it is the unique feature in Wasgamuwa. It is certainly the best place in Sri Lanka to see and experience the 'Wild Elephants'. In addition to that 23 species of mammal are to be found in the park.
